The swimwear manufacturing process

How your swimwear
moves through production.

From materials entering the workflow to finished pieces prepared for dispatch, these are the main operations behind your bulk order.

01 / PREPARE

Fabric & component preparation

Bring fabrics, lining, elastics and trims together for the order. Organise materials by style and colour, and coordinate any specified processing before the relevant production operation.

Focus: Material availability, matching components and allocation to the order.

02 / CUT

Cutting & panel preparation

Cut outer fabric and lining to the required patterns and sizes. Keep panels grouped and identified for assembly, with attention to fabric direction and any print placement requirements.

Focus: Accurate panels, size identification and organised cutting bundles.

03 / ASSEMBLE

Sewing & construction

Join panels and lining, apply elastics, and attach straps and hardware. Maintain the intended shape and finish through the garment’s construction.

Focus: Seam consistency, elastic application and component placement.

04 / FINISH

Garment finishing

Trim loose threads, tidy seam ends and remove handling marks where appropriate. Prepare the completed garments for review and packing.

Focus: Clean presentation, tidy details and finished appearance.

05 / INSPECT

Inspection & issue resolution

Check the agreed measurements and workmanship points against the product reference. Identify affected pieces, record findings and address issues before packing.

Focus: Measurement checks, workmanship review and issue resolution.

06 / DISPATCH

Packing & shipment

Pack garments in the agreed assortment, verify quantities by product code and size, and prepare carton markings and shipment records for dispatch.

Focus: Correct assortment, carton identification and dispatch readiness.

Printing and specialist processing are scheduled at the stage required by the design—for example, on fabric or cut panels. The exact sequence is confirmed for the style.

Order coordination

Keep the order clear.
Keep decisions visible.

Production management depends on current specifications, timely decisions and a shared understanding of the schedule.

01 / ONE PRODUCT REFERENCE

Control the details

Keep the approved sample, specification version and order breakdown aligned as the collection moves through production.

  • Style codes, colours and size ratios
  • Approved materials, trims and label details
  • Recorded changes and approval dates
02 / AGREED MILESTONES

Coordinate progress

Agree the milestones that matter to your order and the update format needed to review readiness and progress.

  • Material and component readiness
  • Production and inspection milestones
  • Packing and expected dispatch timing
03 / EXCEPTIONS & CHANGES

Resolve issues early

When a specification change, material delay or production issue affects the plan, clarify the options and obtain the necessary decision.

  • Issue description and affected styles
  • Impact on cost, quantity or timing
  • Agreed action and revised reference

At order confirmation, agree your contact route, update frequency and required review points. Any change to the approved product or delivery plan should be confirmed before implementation.

Production capacity & scheduling

A realistic plan
for your order.

Your production requirements depend on more than the total number of pieces. A collection with several constructions, colours and custom components needs a different plan from a repeat order of an approved style.

Share the full breakdown so feasibility, material needs and the available production window can be reviewed together.

Review your order requirements

What shapes your production plan
Product mix Bikinis, one-pieces, rash guards and other styles may involve different construction and handling requirements.
Style / colour / size split Provide the complete assortment. Confirm garment minimums and separate material or component minimums.
Material readiness Stock availability, custom colours, print approvals and trim sourcing can affect the start date.
Order readiness The sample, specifications, branding, payment conditions and open approvals determine when work can be released.
Delivery requirements Allow for inspection, packing, dispatch and freight when working back from your launch date.

The 25–35 day reference is indicative, not a reserved production slot. Confirm the start conditions, day basis and expected dispatch date for your specific order.

Production FAQs

Plan your bulk order
with clearer details.

Questions brands ask when moving from an approved sample to commercial quantities.

What do you need before bulk production starts?

Confirm the approved sample, final specifications, size and colour breakdown, materials, branded components and packing requirements. Agree commercial terms, required approvals and the conditions for releasing the order into production.

How long does swimwear manufacturing take?

The indicative bulk production reference is 25–35 days after approvals and deposit, subject to material readiness and the agreed schedule. Confirm whether the quote uses calendar or working days, and separate the expected dispatch date from freight transit and arrival dates.

What is your MOQ for bulk swimwear production?

The starting garment MOQ shown on our site is 50 pieces per style and colour, subject to design and material confirmation. Custom fabrics, prints, hardware, labels and packaging may have separate minimums. Share the complete breakdown for review.

How do I check whether you can accommodate my order?

Provide the styles, quantities, size and colour split, construction requirements, material status and target dates. Production availability needs to be assessed against the actual order and schedule; sample approval alone does not reserve a bulk production slot.

Can I change the design after production is confirmed?

Raise the change as soon as possible. Its feasibility depends on which materials or operations are already committed. Confirm any effect on cost, lead time and completed work, then record the revised specifications and approval before the change is implemented.

How are production updates handled?

Agree the contact route, update frequency and review milestones when confirming the order. Useful updates can cover material readiness, production progress, open decisions, inspection and dispatch preparation. Confirm any photo or document requirements in advance.

Will the bulk order match my approved sample?

The approved sample and final specifications should be the agreed production references. Define measurement tolerances, material references and workmanship requirements before production, then agree the checks and release conditions used to assess the order.

Can I arrange an independent inspection?

Discuss the inspection provider, scope, timing and release requirements before ordering. Confirm site access, responsibility for fees and how findings or corrective actions will be handled within the production and shipment schedule.

How should I plan a repeat order?

Identify the original style and specification version, list any changes and provide the new assortment. Reconfirm fabric and trim availability, colour references, quantities, pricing and production dates instead of assuming the original conditions remain the same.
