Fabric-led development

Fabric, Drape
& Sheerness

We source woven cotton, viscose, chiffon, mesh, lace and crochet options, as well as other fabrics requested by the customer. Final selection depends on the design, budget and supplier availability.

Use these points to define the material you want before sampling.
Material direction What to specify What to review on the sample
Woven cotton Composition, fabric weight, weave and intended finish. Hand feel, transparency, garment shape and agreed care requirements.
Viscose Composition, weight, surface and the amount of drape you want. How the shirt, skirt or trouser falls, along with dimensions and care requirements.
Chiffon Actual fibre composition, weight and intended sheerness. Transparency over swimwear, seam appearance and hem finish.
Mesh Composition, stretch, openness and pattern scale. Coverage, openings, seam appearance and edge finishing.
Lace Composition, pattern, openness and any border details. Pattern position, joining, coverage and finished edges.
Crochet Yarn composition, stitch or openwork structure, weight and stretch. Finished dimensions, openness, garment shape and edge stability.

Fabric swatches and colour cards are free; courier costs are paid by the customer. For custom materials, we confirm the supplier’s minimums, cost and timing before you commit.

Coordinate Cover-Ups
with Your Swimwear

Carry your collection’s colour and artwork into beach shirts, wraps and other cover-ups. We review the result on each selected fabric rather than assuming one artwork file will look identical across every material.

Colour on the actual fabric

Use colour references and physical samples to agree the intended relationship between the swimsuit and cover-up. Different fabric bases can produce different results.

Print scale & placement

Confirm the repeat, print size and placement for each garment. A print developed for bikini pieces may need a different scale or layout on a shirt or sarong.

Branding across the range

Coordinate your labels, hangtags and packaging with the wider collection. Confirm placement, materials and any separate accessory minimums.

Fit & finishing

Specify the Details
That Shape the Garment

A relaxed silhouette still needs clear dimensions. Set the intended length, coverage and movement, then review the details through sample development.

01

Shirt Proportions & Openings

Confirm chest width, body and sleeve length, collar shape, button spacing and side slits. Review how the shirt sits when open and closed over swimwear.

02

Sarong Dimensions & Overlap

Provide flat width and length, tie placement and intended wrap overlap. Use body references to establish coverage when the garment is tied.

03

Edges, Seams & Trims

Agree the hem, seam appearance, tie attachments and buttons for the selected fabric. Delicate or open materials need their own finishing review.

04

One Size or a Graded Range

For one-size styles, confirm finished measurements and intended wearer range. For graded styles, use your size chart and check the key points against agreed measurement and acceptance requirements.

Plan your order

Cover-Up
Order Details

Send the product references and quantity breakdown first. We confirm the fabric and accessories, then quote the sample. Pattern making starts after full sample payment. You review photos or videos before the sample is sent.

  • Design: front and back references, silhouette and construction details.
  • Fit: size chart, garment dimensions and intended coverage.
  • Material: fabric reference, composition or desired feel, colour and artwork.
  • Order: quantities per style, colour and size, branding and target dates.

Once the sample, specifications and order details are confirmed, the project moves towards bulk production.

What types of beach cover-ups do you manufacture?

Beach shirts and sarongs are our main products. We also develop cover-up dresses, trousers and coordinated sets from customer designs, reference images or tech packs.

Can you source a specific fabric for our cover-ups?

Yes. We can source fabrics to your requirements, including woven cotton, viscose, chiffon, mesh, lace and crochet options. Send your swatch or specification so we can confirm suitability, availability, supplier minimums, pricing and timing.

Can we match cover-up prints and colours to our swimwear?
