Explore material, development and packaging choices in the context of your swimwear collection. We help frame the options around the product you want to make, the information available and your order requirements.

A practical approach to
swimwear sustainability.

Start with specific choices: what the fabric contains, how it performs, which details the product needs and how it will be packed. Assess each option against the brief and supporting information.

Materials come first

Choose the fabric.
Understand the composition.

Tell us how the garment will be used and whether recycled content is part of your brief. Review material options, performance and composition together; availability is confirmed for the selected fabric and order.

01 / NYLON-BASED OPTIONS

Recycled nylon

Discuss recycled nylon options alongside your preferred weight, texture, stretch and coverage. Review the full blend, including elastane and any other fibres.

Confirm: fabric reference, recycled proportion, available colours and supporting information.

02 / POLYESTER-BASED OPTIONS

Recycled polyester

Consider the available polyester-based fabrics against the garment and print requirements. Compare the physical swatch and sample rather than selecting by fibre name alone.

Confirm: composition, hand feel, print suitability and sourcing conditions.

03 / TRAINING & POOL USE

PBT swimwear fabric

Discuss polyester/PBT blends for training and frequent pool use, with chlorine resistance, stretch and shape retention reviewed against the selected fabric’s technical information.

Confirm: full blend, PBT content, intended use and performance evidence. PBT identifies a polymer type; recycled content must be confirmed separately.

04 / THE COMPLETE GARMENT

Lining, trims & performance

Review the outer fabric with its lining, elastics and hardware. Relevant testing requirements should be defined for the product and its intended use.

Confirm: which components and product claims the available evidence covers.

Supporting documentationGRS & OEKO-TEX certificate information

Ask us for GRS and OEKO-TEX certificate information relevant to your project. Confirm the certificate type, holder, validity and scope against the selected materials and order before using a product-specific claim. Coverage is reviewed for the project rather than assumed across the entire collection.

Considered development

Make decisions early.
Avoid unnecessary repeats.

A clear brief and consolidated feedback can help avoid preventable sample rounds and changes after materials have been committed.

01 / DEFINE

Prepare the product brief

Identify the shape, intended fit and material direction before sample development. Mark the details that are fixed and the choices still open.

02 / REVIEW

Bring feedback together

Review the garment as a whole and consolidate fit, construction and material comments into a clear revision list.

03 / CONFIRM

Approve before bulk work

Confirm the product references and order breakdown before bulk production so the agreed details guide the next stage.

Packaging choices

Use what the order needs.
Keep the purpose clear.

Consider each packaging element in relation to product protection, identification and your sales channel. Discuss whether extra layers, inserts or separate items are needed for the order.

Packaging forms part of your brand requirements. Share the preferred format and material direction early so options and minimums can be reviewed together.

  • Garment protection and handling requirements
  • Individual packing, size identification and assortment
  • Material composition and available specifications
  • Order quantity, artwork and component minimums

Confirm the exact specification behind any recycled-content, recyclability or other packaging claim. Available options and supporting information depend on the selected item.

Before you choose

Put your priorities
into the brief.

Explain which material and packaging requirements matter to your collection. A defined priority is easier to assess than a general request for an “eco-friendly” product.

Review composition, performance and documentation together. One material choice or certificate does not describe every aspect of the finished garment.

What to confirm for your order
Material Fabric reference, full composition including PBT where relevant, recycled proportion where applicable, colour and texture.
Product use Fit, stretch, coverage, lining and intended use, including chlorine exposure for pool and training styles.
Documents Relevant certificate or report, its current scope, and any order-specific information required.
Quantity & cost Garment quantities, fabric and packaging minimums, and the quoted cost of the selected options.
Timing Sourcing availability, colour or print approvals, sampling and production schedule.
Packaging Protective function, material specification, identification and customer-channel needs.

Use confirmed specifications and supporting information when describing the final product to your customers.
