Product checks for your bulk order

Swimwear
Quality Control
against agreed
specifications.

Define what will be checked, how it will be assessed and what happens when an issue is found. ZIKOSWIM works with your approved sample and product requirements to frame the quality checks for your swimwear order.

Look closer.
Check the details.
Garment inspection / quality review
Clear acceptance references

Approved sample, current specifications and material approvals.

Defined inspection scope

Checkpoints, measurement methods and review requirements.

Recorded issue handling

Identify, assess, correct and review before release.

The basis for acceptance

Agree the reference.
Define the result.

Inspection is useful when both sides understand what an acceptable product looks like. Confirm the references and review conditions before production begins.

Keep visual approval, numerical measurements and performance requirements separate so each can be assessed using the right evidence.

  1. 01

    Approved sample

The physical reference for the garment’s appearance, construction and agreed details.

  2. 02

    Current product specifications

The size chart, measurement methods, tolerances and recorded revisions for the order.

  3. 03

    Material & artwork approvals

Fabric and colour references, print approvals, trim details and label artwork.

  4. 04

    Inspection & release criteria

Check scope, defect definitions, sample selection, acceptance rules and any required buyer review.

Swimwear inspection items

Review the garment.
Check what matters.

Use the order specifications to define the relevant checks for each style, material and construction.

01 / MATERIALS

Fabric, lining & colour

Review visible fabric defects, shade consistency, lining selection and the match to approved material or colour references.

Reference: approved swatches, colour references and material specifications.

02 / CONSTRUCTION

Measurement methods & tolerances

A clear target.
A defined allowance.

A size chart needs more than target numbers. Define where the measurement begins and ends, how the garment is positioned and the acceptable variation at each point.

Agree whether the garment is measured relaxed or extended, as a flat width or full circumference, and under which conditions. Use the same method when reviewing samples and bulk garments.

Tolerances should be specified by measurement point and style. Fabric stretch, elastic construction and measurement technique can affect the result; one tolerance is not suitable for every dimension.

Measurement instructions to define in your specification
POINT OF MEASURE METHOD TO CONFIRM ACCEPTANCE BASIS
Top or underbust width Position flat; identify endpoints and whether measurement is taken relaxed or under specified extension. Size-specific target and tolerance for that point.
Waist or leg opening Identify the opening and clarify whether the value is a flat width or circumference. Approved method, target and elastic condition.
Body or side length Define the start and finish points, garment position and treatment of ties or straps. Current specification and recorded revisions.

How a tolerance is assessed

Illustrative example only. These numbers are not a factory standard or a recommended tolerance.

TARGET34.0 cm
AGREED TOLERANCE±0.5 cm
ACCEPTABLE RANGE33.5–34.5 cm
Testing & supporting evidence

Match the test
to the requirement.

Visual inspection and measurement do not establish every performance claim. Discuss the testing needed for your product and intended use before ordering.

01 / COLOUR

Colourfastness

Discuss relevant exposure conditions, such as water, washing, rubbing, perspiration or chlorinated water, and the acceptance level required.

02 / ELASTICITY

Stretch & recovery

Define the fabric or garment behaviour to evaluate, including the method, extension conditions and how recovery will be assessed.

03 / CONSTRUCTION

Seam & attachment strength

Identify the seams, straps, fastenings or components to assess and agree the relevant test method and pass criteria.

04 / STABILITY

Dimensional change

Specify the treatment and measurement procedure used to assess size or shape changes after care or exposure.

05 / USE CONDITIONS

Coverage & appearance

If coverage when wet or stretched is important, define a review protocol, conditions and acceptance reference for the selected fabric and construction.

06 / SPECIFIC CLAIMS

Product-specific evidence

Raise any UV protection, chemical restriction or other specific claim early. Confirm suitable methods, sample coverage and reporting needs.

Confirm the testing brief before production.

Specify the item being tested, method, acceptance threshold, sample quantity, laboratory or provider, cost and timing. Check whether a report covers the selected material, colour and finished product scope.

Testing availability and scope are confirmed per project. A fabric report should not be treated as evidence for every finished-garment claim or colour variation.

Inspection checkpoints

The right checks.
At the right stage.

Agree review points early so requirements are clear before materials, production or shipment are committed.

01 / BEFORE PRODUCTION

Confirm the references

Resolve the sample, specifications, materials, check methods and any required test approvals before the order is released.

02 / DURING PRODUCTION

Identify issues in progress

Use the agreed checkpoints to review relevant operations and surface issues while corrective action can still be coordinated.

03 / BEFORE DISPATCH

Review release readiness

Assess the agreed inspection results, outstanding actions, assortment and packing before the shipment is released.

Confirm whether a check covers every piece or a selected sample. For a sampling plan, agree lot definition, selection method, defect classification and acceptance rules rather than assuming a default level.

When a discrepancy is found

Record the issue.
Resolve it against the brief.

A clear issue record supports a practical decision and makes the agreed action easier to verify.

01 / RECORD

Identify

Record the style, colour, size, affected pieces and inspection point, with measurements or photos where relevant.

02 / ASSESS

Compare

Check the finding against the approved reference, tolerance or acceptance criterion and determine the affected scope.

03 / ACT

Agree a resolution

Confirm the appropriate action, responsibility and timing. Options may include sorting, rework or replacement, subject to the issue and order terms.

04 / VERIFY

Recheck & release

Review the affected items after action, record the result and resolve outstanding approval points before release.

Where a decision affects delivery, cost or acceptance, confirm it with the buyer before proceeding. Responsibility, remedies and any post-delivery claim terms belong in the order agreement.

Inspection records & buyer review

Useful evidence.
A traceable decision.

Agree the inspection information you need to review the order. A useful record connects findings to the relevant product reference and the action taken.

  • Order, style, colour, size and inspection date
  • Specification version and inspection scope
  • Measurement results and identified discrepancies
  • Relevant photographs and affected quantities
  • Corrective action, recheck result and release status

If you plan to use an independent inspector, arrange the scope, timing, access and release requirements before the order reaches the inspection stage.

Quality control FAQs

Clear criteria.
Better-informed approvals.

Practical questions about inspections, measurements, testing and acceptance.

What does swimwear quality control include?

The agreed scope can cover materials and colour, construction, measurements, functional details, appearance, labels and packing. Confirm the relevant items, methods and acceptance references for each style and order.

What is the acceptance reference for my order?

Use the approved sample alongside the current product specifications, measurement tolerances, material approvals and packing instructions. Identify which reference applies to each requirement and resolve inconsistencies before production.

What measurement tolerance do you use?

Tolerances are agreed by style and measurement point. Confirm the target value, method, garment condition and acceptable variation in the specification. The numerical example on this page is illustrative and is not a default factory tolerance.

Does a measurement check confirm fit?

A measurement check assesses specified dimensions. Fit review also considers how the garment sits and functions on the intended body or fit model. Resolve fit during development and use defined measurements and construction details for bulk assessment.

Is every garment inspected?

Confirm inspection coverage for your order, including which checks are performed on every piece and which use sampling. If a sampling plan is required, agree its lot definition, selection approach and acceptance rules before production.

Do all orders use the same testing requirements?

No. Testing depends on the product, materials, intended use and buyer requirements. Specify the required evidence, method and threshold, then confirm the provider, sample scope, costs and lead times before ordering.

Can a fabric report support a claim on my finished swimsuit?

Review what the report actually covers: material, colour, treatment, specimen type, method and result. A report for one fabric or configuration may not establish the performance of every finished garment. Confirm the evidence needed for your specific claim.

Can I appoint an independent inspection company?

Discuss the provider, scope, sampling approach, timing, access and fees in advance. Agree how findings, corrective actions and shipment release will be reviewed so the inspection fits into the order schedule.

What happens if an item does not meet the agreed criteria?

Record the discrepancy, establish the affected scope and compare it with the agreed requirement. Confirm the appropriate corrective action, recheck the result and resolve any remaining release decision. Remedies and responsibilities should follow the order agreement.
