Swimwear MOQ and Lead Times

ZIKOSWIM is a swimwear factory in Dongguan, Guangdong, China. Minimum orders start at 50 pieces per style, per colour, sampling takes 10–15 days, and bulk production runs 25–35 days after you approve the sample. This page sets out exactly how those numbers are counted, where the minimum changes, and what payment looks like at each stage.

Minimum order quantity

Our minimum is counted per style, per colour. It is the same whether you are placing your first order or reordering a style we have already made with you.

Fabric and print method Minimum per style / colour
Solid colour, stock-supported fabrics 50 pcs
Polyester sublimation print 50 pcs
Nylon digital direct print 100 pcs

Nylon digital direct printing carries a higher minimum than the other two routes. If your artwork depends on that process, plan around 100 pieces for that style and colour.

What “per style, per colour” means

This is the part that most often causes confusion, so we will spell it out.

  • One count per style and colour. The same bikini in black and in rust is two counts — 50 pieces each, not 50 split between them.
  • Sizes sit inside that count. 50 pieces covers your full size breakdown for that style and colour — confirm please
  • Reorders are counted on their own. Coming back for another run of something we already produced uses the same 50-piece minimum as your first order.

Reorders use the same minimum

Worth stating on its own, because most factories quietly raise their minimum once you are locked in. At ZIKOSWIM the reorder minimum is identical to the first-order minimum: 50 pieces per style and colour, same fabric routes, same payment structure.

That matters more than it sounds if you are testing the waters — you can start with 150 pieces in three colourways, see which one sells, and restock only the winner without paying a premium for the small run.

Sampling — 10 to 15 days

From agreed design to a physical sample in your hands: 10–15 days. The clock starts once we have settled what we are making and the sample payment has arrived — not when you first sent your email.

Where a design lands inside that window depends mostly on how much development it needs. A style built from stock-supported fabric in a single colour tends toward the shorter end. If the fabric has to be sourced or your print needs a strike-off approval first, expect the longer end.

Bulk production — 25 to 35 days

Counted from the day you approve the sample and the deposit clears. What happens in between:

Fabric prep and cutting
Fabric confirmed, relayed and cut to your size breakdown.
Printing or embroidery
Only if your design calls for it. This is the stage most likely to stretch the schedule.
Sewing
Assembly on the line, including linings, cups, elastic and hardware.
Finishing, labelling and packing
Your woven labels, care labels, hang tags and packaging applied to spec.
Final inspection
Measurement against the sealed sample, then random inspection of packed goods.

Payment terms

Stage Terms
Sampling Paid in full before sampling starts
Bulk production 50% deposit to begin, remaining 50% before shipment

We do not take a partial deposit against samples — the sample fee is paid up front in full. Bulk orders follow the standard structure above.

Sample fees, and when they come back to you

Sample cost depends on the fabric and construction of your particular style, so there is no price list — we work it out per design and send it together with MOQ, bulk pricing and lead time when we quote you.

Once a single style and colour reaches 200 pieces in bulk production, the sample fee for that style is credited back against your order.

Worth saying plainly

That 200-piece threshold is above the 50-piece minimum. A first order at the minimum will not clear it. We would rather tell you that here, in writing, than have you discover it after paying for samples.

What moves these numbers

Every figure on this page is a working range rather than a guarantee, because four things push them around:

  • Fabric route. Stock-supported colours move faster than custom-dyed or custom-woven fabric, which carries the mill’s own lead time.
  • Print method. Sublimation and digital print sit differently in the schedule, and each has its own minimum.
  • Construction. A lined one-piece with underwire is simply more work than a basic triangle bikini.
  • Where you sit in the season. Peak season months — advise

We will give you firm numbers for your specific style when we quote — not ranges.

Questions buyers ask

Is the minimum counted per style or per colour?
Both. 50 pieces is the floor for one style in one colour. Three colourways of the same style is three counts. If you want to keep a first drop small, start with one or two colourways rather than a wide range.
Can I order fewer than 50 pieces for my first collection?
50 pieces per style and colour is our floor. It is set by what it takes to run a style properly — the line cannot be set up for less without the unit price becoming unrealistic for you. We’ll tell you straight if a design is too ambitious for the quantity you have in mind.
Do reorders have a different minimum?
No. Reorders carry exactly the same 50-piece minimum as your first order. There is no penalty for coming back with a small repeat run.
When exactly does my balance payment fall due?
50% deposit starts production, and the remaining 50% is due before shipment. Nothing is loaded onto a container or handed to your forwarder until that balance is settled.
What is the total time from first email to goods arriving?
Realistically: a few days to quote and settle the design, 10–15 days for sampling, 25–35 days for bulk after approval, plus freight on top — which depends entirely on where you are shipping to and whether you go air or sea. Ask us for an end-to-end calendar for your launch date and we’ll map it backwards.
